Gay and Lesbian Equality (WA) is currently seeking new committee members to assist with 2010 campaigns, including the major campaign for equal relationship recognition schemes in WA & Nation-wide.

WA Govt needs to fix anti-discrimination laws 86% of WA people support sexuality, gender identity protections 1 July 2009
The Galaxy Poll, conducted on 12-14 June 2009, shows that an overwhelming majority of 86% of Western Australians support anti-discrimination laws on the basis of sexuality and gender identity, while a mere 8% do not.
GALE spokesperson Rod Swift said the new poll shows that the community clearly supports a fair go for all people, irrespective of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
"This latest poll again shows that Western Australians believe that everyone deserves a fair go and protection from unfair and unwarranted discrimination," Mr Swift said. |

Same sex marriage -- we do?
The debate over same-sex marriages is heating up again after a poll of 1100 people, commissioned by Australian Marriage Equality, found 60 per cent of Australians surveyed believed homosexual couples should have the right to get hitched.
This may just be the Gen-X in me speaking, but all I can think is: Well, duh. Of course they should. How can it still even be an issue? |
