LINDA MOTTRAM (Host, AM, ABC Radio) - The Labor government in Western
Australia is moving quickly to reform laws which discriminate against
gays and lesbians. The government has set up a committee to advise on
how to change the laws, and it

DAVID WEBER (Reporter, AM, ABC Radio) - In Western Australia the age of
consent for homosexual men is 21. But the age of consent for homosexual
women in 16. Those who break the law face five years jail. Same sex
couples are not included in the definition of de facto relationships.
