Whats on @ GALE(WA)

We want YOU to Join us in Canberra for Marriage Equality!

Today is a very important day for the campaign for Marriage Equality. Federal MPs in Canbera are reporting back to Parliament with their electorates's views on same-sex marriage. But the big fight is still yet to come.

On October 12th, community activists and advocates for equality will be meeting at Parliament house in Canberra.
And we'd like you to join us.

Of the thousands of stories that have been received across the country through the Marriage Equality Matters campaign, an enormous number have come from WA - powerful stories of support for family members, friends and colleagues. Now we need to take things a little further.

We are looking for four or five extraordinary Western Australians to travel with us to Canberra in October to talk to their Federal members about the importance of Marriage Equality.

In Particular, we are looking for individuals residing in the electorates of MoorePearceCurtinHasluck, Brand and Perth.

GALE and our allies will be helping to fund travel to and from the capital, as well as accommodation. You will also be accompanied by dedicated and experienced advocates and lobbyists who will provide support and advice for meeting with MPs.

Over the next few weeks we will be meeting with community members that are interested in supporting Marriage Equality in Canberra. If you are interested, we will be more than happy to arrange a time to chat with you. Contact GALE on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. GetUp! wants YOUR help to get this Equal Love ad on the air!

Being twin brothers, David and Paul look almost the same - except in the eyes of the law.

That's because one twin is straight, and the other gay. That means one brother can marry his partner, but the other cannot.

Paul and David star in our new video (produced with our partners, Australian Marriage Equality) to share a simple message: it's time for marriage equality for same-sex couples.

Don't miss this Valentine's video -- and don't let your friends make up their mind about marriage equality without seeing it!

  • ABC Drum: Still not OK to be Gay
By Alistair Webster “…same-sex attracted people are still not afforded legal recognition for their relationships in the same way as heterosexuals. The exclusion of gays and lesbians from the institution of marriage sends a strong message that it is OK to discriminate on the basis of sexuality. But the introduction of same-sex marriage itself will [...]
